Medieval village surrounded by a great wall, Cadaques is a jewel of southern Catalonia. It is often described as the “white village” because of its whitewashed houses which blend harmoniously with the surrounding hills and the Mediterranean Sea.

All the charm of a Catalan village

While walking there, the visitor walks on the old cobblestones of the village "el rastell and stroll through the many alleys that make this place so charming. 
The highest point of the old part of the village is near thechurch of sta maria of Cadaques. From this place you can enjoy a magnificent view of the village, the bay of Cadaqués, Es Cucurucuc and even the lighthouse of Cala Nans.

A village loved by artists

In this corner of the Costa Brava, the most important avant-garde artistic movements of the XNUMXth century cohabited. Some of the most famous artists, such as Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dalí, Paul Eluard, Federico García Lorca, André Dérain came to work there. Among them, the artist Salvador Dalí stands out for his genius and originality. He loved Cadaques and fixed his place of residence in Portlligat. The visit to the Dalí House-Museum allows the visitor, through a journey through different rooms, to get an idea of ​​the artist's lifestyle, while observing all kinds of curiosities.
